When I lived in Soho (Peter Street) in 1957/8, there as only one clothes shop in Carnaby Street, i.e. Vince, Man's Shop. All the other buildings had blind frontages. Vince was the only dash of colour in the whole thoroughfare. I used to cut through Carnaby Street on my way to work in Upper Brook Street, Mayfair. Happy Days!
